2017-2018 Executive Board
Kate Long: Advisor
Major: Early Childhood Education Year: Senior Favorite Fruit/Vegetable: Peaches Favorite Part of The Lunchbox Garden Project: "Growing up I was never taught about the nutritional value in certain foods and how to combine a variety of foods to make me feel full and healthy. I also did not understand how sustainable agriculture would make my body and the Earth happier. It was not until college that I began to see how much our food impacts our lives. I love working with kids and believe we can help foster a more meaningful childhood for them by planting the seeds of nutrition and responsible food production early." |
Trisha Dalapati: Co-Director
Major: Biochemistry/Molecular Biology and Anthropology
Year: Junior
Favorite Part of The Lunchbox Garden Project:
"I love Lunchbox Garden because I am making friends of all different ages! I enjoy spending time with my fellow teachers and volunteers and meeting the younger students at Barnett Shoals Elementary. It always makes me smile when a second grader remembers my name and excitedly tells me how he looks forward to Lunchbox Garden all week. Even though we are the ones teaching the lessons, I learn something new from the students every time!"

Prabhjot Minhas: Public Relations Chair
Major: Genetics and Anthropology
Year: Junior
Favorite Part of The Lunchbox Garden Project:
After discovering my passion for gardening during my freshman year, I was searching for a way to combine my interest in gardening with service. The Lunchbox Garden Project was the perfect solution! I always look forward to seeing the kids and teaching them about plants, nutrition, and health. It's also great to see how much the kids have learned after only a few weeks. LBG is truly making a difference one fruit/vegetable at a time!
